This unrestored 914/6 is completely in the first varnish. Inside the Porsche presents itself original and unrestored.
The seats, panels and carpets are in a beautiful unrestored condition. Technically, the 914/6 has been completely overhauled. The complete chassis, including the shock absorbers (Bilstein) and springs, the gearbox and also the engine including carburetors have been repaired. The engine was re-compressed with new forged pistons, got the large S-intake ports and S-valves, crankshaft and connecting rods were fine-balanced. Further, the Weber carburetors were completely overhauled at VGS and received the jetting from the 2.0S. The engine has kept its completely original look, but now produces about 160 hp instead of the 110 hp. The Fuchs rims are perfectly original, new Pirelli CN 36 were mounted. Overall, a very high time and financial effort was made, everything has been done “from the finest”. Engine and transmission are also “matching numbers”. Toolkit, manual, jack and “Hundeknochen” come with the car.
After our extensive measures the 914/6 drives sensationally and the worry at Porsche at the beginning of the 70’s was quite well-founded that the 914/6 could outrun the 911 in terms of driving technology. It is simply a great pleasure to hear the high-revving 2.0l engine with its screeching sound directly behind the driver’s seat and also the mid-engine concept eliminates the typical rear-heaviness of the 911. All in all, such a 914/6 is a must for any discerning Porsche collection. In this original condition and on the level repaired, however, rare to find!
