- Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies to provide you with a better and more personalised service. Herein below, we inform you about the type of cookies we use, and how and for what purposes we use them.
What are cookies, and why do we use them?
Cookies are small text files that are saved on the hard disk of your terminal (e.g. a computer, laptop or smartphone) and read by your browser. Almost all websites now use various types of cookies to ensure that websites can function as intended and that the design and functions are displayed to you in an optimal manner. Cookies store, for example, your individual settings (e.g. login and language) and send them back to our or to another website, when you use the website from the same device. For a better overview of the cookies used by us, we have listed and explained these cookies according to their function and purpose:
Necessary cookies allow you to navigate on our website and to use its basic functions. As a rule, we only place these cookies as a response to an action requested by you (e.g. when you log into a secure section of our website).
Functional cookies are used by us to recognise you when you return to our website and to provide better and personalised functions. Our functional cookies exclusively collect anonymous information and are not able to track your movements or behaviour on other websites.
Analysis and performance cookiesallow us to measure how many visitors have come to our website and how our website is being used (e.g. which pages are retrieved particularly often, or whether error messages are displayed on some pages). This helps us understand and analyse how our website is being used, so we can ensure that visitors can quickly and easily find what they are looking for.
Google AnalyticsOur website also uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, ‘Google’). Google Analytics uses cookies that are stored on your terminal and allow for an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. In this case, the IP address transmitted by your internet browser will be anonymised through truncation and not be associated with any other data (on this website, Google Analytics has been extended by the ‘gat._anonymizeIp ()’ code to ensure anonymous collection of IP addresses – ‘IP masking’ -, i.e. the function of IP anonymisation in Google Analytics sets the last octet in user IP addresses of type IPv4, and in case of IPv6 addresses, the last 80 bits, in the memory to zero shortly after they were sent to Google for capture; hence, the full IP address is never written on the hard drive).
Google uses the information transmitted by the cookie on our behalf to analyse the utilisation of our website, to compile reports on website activities, and to provide other services relating to the website activity and internet usage for our benefit. The data collected by means of Google Analytics are neither used by us to identify visitors on our website personally, nor merged otherwise with personal data.
For more information, please visit:
https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/partners/.
What can you do if you do not want any cookies to be stored on your terminal?
If you no longer want us to place cookies, you can withdraw your consent at any time. You can do so by using any of the options described below:
Change of internet browser settings:
If you want to erase the cookies saved on your terminal and prevent the future placement of cookies, you can change the relevant settings of your browser. You can usually find the relevant browser settings under ‘Options’, ‘Tools’ or ‘Settings’. Depending on the internet browser you are using, there are different options to disable cookies. These web fonts are integrated by means of server retrieval, typically from a Google server in the United States. In doing so, Google also collects, processes and uses data about the visitor’s behaviour on the website. You can set your browser in such a manner that the fonts are not uploaded from the Google servers (e.g. by installing add-ons such as NoScript or Ghosteryfor Firefox).
